Learning about Maths in Singapore primary schools is a roller-coaster ride! It is challenging with tonnes of worksheets. Why did the teachers think we need to do model-based problem sums for 3 years repeatedly when they have nothing to do with real life? It's not as if we need to constantly ask ourselves everyday questions like: Priya is 6.3cm taller than Kim but he is 2.8cm shorter than Ali. The total height of Priya and Ali is 190.5cm. Find Kim's height (round off your answer to 1 decimal place).
It sounds more like a test of your understanding of English instead. It's about playing with word games to figure out what they mean instead of using algebra. That's why I'm mad about maths at school. They confused Maths with English and not on Maths concepts.
